“有志者，事竟成”。那是去年参加奥数竞赛初赛前的一段日子，每天除了要完成作业，还要攻克许多题目。早晨，很早起来做数学题;白天，也有听不完的数学讲解;晚上，继续做题是很正常的。如此下来，三天以后，我感到十分疲劳，终于有一天，我忍耐不住了，便对妈妈发火：“参加什么奥数竞赛，累都累死人了。”妈妈心平气和地对我说：“宝贝，你不是一直说‘有志者，事竟成’吗?你要想入围决赛，那就得吃苦、就得努力啊!”是啊，从那以后的几天里，每天我都认认真真地复习……参加初赛以后，不到三个星期，我就兴奋地得知自己入围了决赛，可接下来决赛前的集训也是很枯燥艰苦的。不过，由于我时常用“有志者，事竟成”这句话来激励，最终我终于取得了决赛的一等奖……

要问我为什么喜欢这句格言，那还得从我四年级加入校篮球队时说起。起初由于我技术不够好，经常遭到六年级队员的.嘲笑，这可惹恼了我。尽管我此后天天晚上都在家附近的篮球场练习，但技术没有长足的进步。我心里十分渴望成为像乔丹一样棒的超级巨星。有一个周五篮球队训练的时候，郭老师把我叫到一边并轻声对我说：“于昌淼，你的技术还不是特别好，而且你还是四年级的学生，从下星期起别再来篮球队了。”我撇了撇嘴答应了，老师一转脸，我的泪水就像断了线的珠子一样流了下来。难道我这样离开我心爱的篮球队吗?老师的话犹如晴天霹雳，我的心情似乎一下子从天堂到了地狱。平常只有五分钟到家的路程显得那么遥远，连天空中的小鸟好像也在讥笑我;路上的行人好像都用鄙夷的眼神看着我。我眼前浮现出妈妈期盼的目光，耳边回响着爸爸对人说起我在篮球队时那自豪的神情，我黯然泪下。边哭边跑回了家，老师刚才的话语在我耳边挥之不去……
