而《燧氏钻木取火》讲述了大神伏羲同情人类，将火赐给了他们，不过，因为某个人的疏忽，让他们失去了火，重新陷入了黑暗之中，这时，有一位年轻人不畏狂风暴雨，不怕跋山涉水，在伏羲的指引下找到了一种永远不会熄灭的火。
从这两则故事中可以看出两位大神——普罗米修斯和伏羲都富有同情心，可是，同样有关于火的神话故事却隐藏着许多不同点。
